What is the Poetry Office?
The Poetry Office of the Tuttestorie Festival is “A Pump of Meaning, a Scrivener’s Heart that sucks in Readers’ Stories from all sides so that they can meet those of Books.”
Bruno Tognolini’s words express the essence of the Poetry Office, the generative and transformative power of stories and narratives, the ability of thought and word to shape one another, to give form, to broaden the horizons of exploration, questioning, knowledge, and imagination of oneself and the world.
A physical space within the Tuttestorie Festival, a metaphorical space for nurturing the poetic dimension, for playing with words, open to free expression and listening to the poetic voice of childhood.
A Pump of Sense, a Writing Heart that sucks in the Readers' Stories from all sides so that they meet those of the Books.
What do we do at the Poetry Office?
Part of the work is carried out before the Festival: it is the first harvest, the first sprouts of the seeds thrown into the classrooms and libraries that welcome our proposal.
Words, questions, worries, curiosities that dwell in everyday things and that echo in the minds and bodies of girls and boys.
After a careful selection, the thoughts are printed on large colored sheets, spread out in the sun and wind on the wires that run along all the open spaces of the ExMà and offered to the eyes of all visitors.
The second harvest takes place during the days of the Festival, in a continuous revival of intuitions, visions, fragments of stories, glimpses of poetry.
Over the years, the Poetic Office has collected thousands of suggestions, a catalog of funny, melancholic, impertinent, poignant, dreamy thoughts, a collection of secrets, messages, visions, dreams, views of the world, but also a composite, varied, authentic, and never-ending portrait of what every child continues to tell us: it’s me.

Over the course of nineteen editions, the Poetic Office has collected 7,877 thoughts from boys and girls.
Here they are! Because beautiful things must be shared and who knows, maybe they could become seeds from which stories, drawings and rhymes can be born.
